Its very easy way to speed up your Windows 7. Just download the ZIP file, extract it and run the file. Here some tweak include this registry tweak.

  • “Copy To” and “Move To” include in your files and folders context menu.
  • Automatically end task of programs which are either hanged or taking longer time than expected to exit.
  • Menus show delay time Decreases.
  • Disables the low disk space check so that you don’t get the annoying low disk space notification in system tray.
  • Etc.

Here the Download Link, Thanks for Tweaking with Vishal

Don’t worried what this registry script is going to do in your system, because it safe for you and you can Restore to Default System by download this Default Setting Registry.

By increasing the number of cores used you can decrease the boot time:

  • Click on Start and then ‘Run’

  • Click on the tab ‘Boot’ and click on ‘Advanced options…’
  • Check ‘Number of processors’ and enter how many your PC has (usually 2,4 or 8)
  • Click ‘OK’ and ‘Apply’
  • Reboot

3. Windows 7 Shutdown Time Optimization
Windows 7 shutdowns time is fastest than other windows, but you can be improved further by making this registry change which reduced the time Windows waits to kill processes:

  • Click on Start on your taskbar
  • Type regedit and hit Enter
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControl
  • Right-click on WaitToKillServiceTimeOut and change and lower the value
  • The default is 12000 (12 seconds) you can lower this to any number you like
  • Click ok and restart PC

4. Setting Windows 7 Sound Control Panel
Type mmsys.cpl in RUN or Startmenu search box and press Enter. Go to Sounds tab and select No Sounds from Sound Scheme section. You can keep some of your favorite sounds enabled but make sure to set Exit Windows, Windows Log off, Windows Logon and Start Navigation to (None).

5. Faster Windows 7  “Window Switching”

Disabling animation can make your PC run a lot faster. Disabling is easy:

  • Click Start and type in ‘SystemPropertiesPerformance‘
  • Go to the Visual Effects tab
  • Uncheck ‘Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing‘ and click OK

6. Optimize Windows 7 Startup
Run msconfig on your computer by type msconfig on your run start menu. Go to Startup tab and disable unwanted startup entries. Disable your graphics card’s driver utility, Sound Card utility, etc to speed up the system startup and to increase system performance.

7. Remove Unwanted Windows 7 Fonts

Especially TrueType fonts, use quite a bit of system resources.Trim your fonts down to just those that you need to use on a daily basis and fonts that applications may require.

  • Open Control Panel
  • Open Fonts folder

Move fonts you don’t need to a temporary directory (e.g. C:FONTBKUP?) just in case you need or want to bring a few of them back. The more fonts you uninstall, the more system resources you will gain.

That’s 7 step of 14 Ways Build High Performance Windows 7 Speed Part 1, 7 other optimization step is under construction :)

If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
